KAHULUI University of Hawaii Maui College students will sell plants and planters for holiday giving at a garden fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the campus Agriculture Department greenhouse and the ceramics facilities.
The event will feature eight poinsettia varieties, including a new variegated “Tapestry” variety, plus native Hawaiian species, lavender, succulents, other ornamental and food plants, gift baskets and crafts.
The sale will be held jointly with the 15th annual Lawn and Garden Fair of the Maui Association of Landscape Professionals.
The landscapers are sponsoring an Artscapes Living Art exhibit on how to use living plants to design a yard. Specialists will offer seminars on vegetable gardening, air layering, drip irrigation and tree pruning. Also, the UH-Maui College Singers will perform, and concessionaires will offer food.
Parking will be available in the lot along Wahinepio Avenue, with directions provided to the agriculture facilities on the Iao Valley side of the lot.
