Workshop 1:
Crop Insurance and Disaster Assistance (repeat event).

Disaster assistance rules have changed!

Producers are reminded of the new linkage requirement, where USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) disaster assistance programs will only be available to producers who have crop insurance or NAP coverage. Sign up deadlines for 2011 are December 1,2010 for NAP and Dec 31 for most crop insurance. Growers interested in NAP should contact FSA before Thanksgiving .

This workshop will inform participants about risk management, AGR-Lite, crop-specific USDA-RMA crop insurance products, and USDA-FSA disaster assistance programs that concern all Hawaii growers. Producers are encouraged to attend to learn about what applies to their crops, what it takes to qualify, and how to apply.

Workshop 2:
Farm Recordkeeping

Good records are a prerequisite for crop insurance & disaster assistance and for running a farm as a business. The Farm Recordkeeping workshop is for growers wanting to get started with recordkeeping as well as those who already have a system, but who perhaps can learn something extra to help their operations. Growers who preregister receive a free workbook; $25 at the door for shipping and handling.

Please preregister so we can contact you in the event a workshop needs to be canceled.
